Wizards vs Sounders game

Photo: Sounders.com

We could easily have scored 8 goals in this game, as we were one-on-one with the Wizard goalie 5 more times except from the 3 goals we scored.

For Playoffs we need to get much better on the final touch so that we score on all our chances, so I guess some of us need to work extra hard on that at the practices until the next game….

The grass pitch at Community America Ballpark was a really nice one to play on, it was like playing in England again. This pitch and Robertson Stadium in Houston is the best ones we have played this season as the ball roles really fast on the grass.

I’ve been told that Sounders is now the second team in MLS history to reach the postseason in their first year which of course means a lot to me and the whole team!

If you want to get some more facts from the game, have a look at Sounders and MLS .

That pitch was ridiculously small! when i first saw it (and san jose’s) i thought it might be nice to have different pitch dimension at different parks, for a bit of character. Despite the win, i think i’d rather have all of them the same…and all grass.

Freddie, You are the best! It is great to have a Swede on the Sounders. Best wishes in the playoffs. It would cap a perfect season to win the MLS Cup in Seattle in November. I think the team will be even better next year, with more roster additions.

    Great game, Freddie.
Your play leading up to the assist to Jaqua was simply superb.

Just wanted to say that i liked the game, nice football to watch!. I follow the MLS because of Sounders mostly, and can’t believe how much the team has grown in such a short period of professional existance. I’m a FC Barcelona fan and my team has been around for like, forever, so watching a team from the very start of its history is pretty new and exciting. And also playing good football, making progress, that’s really good and refreshing. Congrats Freddie for your huge influence in the team, it has your signature on it!.

    Freddie,

You make so much happen out there on the pitch! It has been so fun to be a part of the Sounders Inaugural season! Great energy, excellent role models for the kids!

Freddie, I saw you kick the crap out of the advertising behind the goal after Zakuani missed the nutmeg. I thought it was fantastic that you played even harder as you got frustrated.

I’ve seen the will of many players weaken when they get frustrated… to the point they commit reckless tackles, or simply give up. But you fought even harder, winning the ball in the corner and providing a pin-point assist to Jaqua.

Congratulations on MLS Player of the Week!
