Woke up Friday feeling really disappointed after the game as it unfortunately developed as I predicted.
The rules here in the MLS motivates the away team in the first leg to play for a draw and not to play an offensive game which of course is not at all entertaining to watch. But that’s the rules we have to accept and hopefully we can offer a better game in Houston.
Anyway, we had a lot of chances to win the game with crossbar shots and goal line saves by the Houston goalie that we should have scored on but this was a real tight and typical playoff game and how football is sometimes.
There has been a lot of discussions and complaints about the refereeing after the game. I am just going to leave it as it is for now, but I am sure of that the people dealing with these kind of issues will do so in this case.
Looking forward to Houston!

Been in training camp in Arizona for a week now. We have been running our asses off and we are all a bit tired, but no pain no gain.
Started thinking about the five best football stadiums I ever played at and came up with my personal “top 5″ list that I wanted to share with you.
well, we’ve played better on the road as of late anyways. I’m more than confident that we’ll leave Houston with a win.
The Sounders have now beaten Houston twice and tied them twice, knowing that and that we have been playing better on the road makes me feel good about the away game coming up. I think that now that Houston will have to push harder to score they will open themselves up more to having our team score.
I wish I could afford to fly down for the game because we are winning this one. Sounders Till I Die!
Both a fun game and a frustrating game to watch. Wish it was possible for me to be there. Looking forward to a big win in Houston!
Seattle was clearly the aggressor but the unsporting fouls sure made things difficult to watch. Particularly the strange one on you where the advantage was taken away but no card issued.
Carry on, road form has been superb lately. We’ll see you back in Seattle for the semis or finals.
Freddie took a shot in about the 88th minute that should have been a red card and wasn’t even called a foul. USSF’s are the worst.
Great game, Freddie!
I agree that they played very defensively.
OK.
Now let’s play to win.
Go Sounders!!!
I’m sure you’ll win in Houston, they will have to go forward and then you’ll get you chances.
Hej!
tänkte bara berätta att HBK fick dunderstyk av GAIS idag!
Hejja Grönsvart!
A lot of great chances. Freddie, you had many fantastic services into the box. Get it done in Houston!
I came to watch you in Columbus Freddie (even shook your hand after the match) and I’ll be one of the crazies headed to Houston this weekend for the match.
Let’s bring it home!
Hope to welcome you guys home from Houston as a team that will advance. Better yet if you will get to play at home for the West!
With your amazing play-making I will look forward to watching you guys take the title at Qwest!
‘It sure would be nice’ to see a UEFA officiating crew come referee a weekend of games in the MLS so that the players and fans could see how the game should be controlled.
Freddie, I just want to offer congratulations on your and the Sounders’ season, especially your fan support. The whole first year was excellent for all of Seattle. We hope to get a team hear in St. Louis, but too many small minded people keep throwing roadblocks in the way. Someday. I applaud a thinking footballer like you to have the courage and the knowledge to sound off about important issues, such as pitches, because people need to know. Keep the faith and support us in St. Louis for an MLS team. JimmytheB.
