We’ve been playing great lately. We haven’t got the results we have wanted but that will come. As I see it, here in America the playoffs are the important thing. I was worried in the beginning of the year because we weren’t playing as well as we should have done. The way we played, even if we got some lucky results in the beginning, won’t win you the playoffs. Now we have showed a play that we can fall back on. We have made the opponents run, and not the other way around in the last two games and that gives you confidence. We have created a lot of chances as we did as well last year, but were missing a lot. I think that’s what the club saw and that’s why early on we signed Blaise. I hear he is a player that is always there in the box and puts in the balls. With that in mind I think we are moving in the right direction, and adding him in the summer there will be more goals scored.
On a personal note, I am back playing center midfield again, which i love. Us playing 3 in the middle gives us an advantage in possession.
Lets hope we can go on a little winning streak and get some points. Think a win on saturday will put us second in our division

Been in training camp in Arizona for a week now. We have been running our asses off and we are all a bit tired, but no pain no gain.
Started thinking about the five best football stadiums I ever played at and came up with my personal “top 5″ list that I wanted to share with you.
interesting. great to see you players are behind. fantastic. cant wait til tomorrows game. V.
I think you guys will come back 4-0 this week… kick some ass!
The new 4-3-3 is excellent. Very dynamic, especially w/ you in the middle. I’m excited to see you put LA in their place tomorrow with all that ball movement. Defense just needs to supress the Donovan / Buddle combo and get our 3 points at home. I’ll be there making noise in the NW corner of Qwest. Can’t wait!
Looking forward to a great game tomorrow, Freddy. It’s going to be sunny and I expect a top-notch game.
As you said, things have looked much better the last two games in terms of possession, passing and off-the-ball movement.
And Galaxy look really good too. Should be a great game. See you in the North End.
I’m glad you’re playing in center mid too. the attack started looking much better. Now we just need to pass better and work on crossfield passing. It would unlock our wide players if we are able to change the point of attack quickly and accurately with a well weighted pass from one side of the field to the other.
most important thing in the league is going to be scoring points in the play-off … it is true they’ve played well, but lacks goals! I hope you have a good game against the Los Angeles Galaxy ….
PS: very good interview on NWCN … but did not understand much (do not speak English) .. should say something in Spanish …. hahaha…. but it is nice to see him speak …!!

Freddie, you always tell the truth.
_We will be there for you _tomorrow at Qwest Field!!!
Freddie, with you running that 4-3-3 from the middle I expect to see you boys tear LA’s defense to pieces and keep them from putting together any coherent attack. I’m excited.
Good luck against LA! I’ll be following the game over the web, since for once the game is not in the middle of the night Swedish time…
Freddie, I stayed home and watched the game. I love getting to see your reactions up close, so cool.
Its great to hear your perspective on Galaxy, you seem like an optimistic person that want to see results, awesome! You are great midfield!! Ps you got some sweet style (turtleneck.. Faded jeans)
Tjenare svennebanan!!

Good luck Freddie!!
Freddie, I have been a die hard Arsenal fan since I can remember. I loved watching you at Arsenal. Now I’m glad you’re in Seattle, being in Vancouver I love feeling of being a part of a League in creation. Vancouver is joining next season and we will be rivals
which makes it a little hard, but such is life.
I know you Swedes love that viking stuff.
anyway, nice to watch you playing for Seattle, I really enjoy the way you guys play. Of course I still wake up at 4:00 am to watch EPL, but also do watch MLS now. Come up to Vancouver for some skiing at Whistlers
Good win in NY.
How was the new pitch?
What were you and Sigi talking about when Pete was hurt and the substitution was coming in? Did you have a disagreement on player choice?
The player who fouled you should have been issued a red. On a scale of 1 to 10 how frustrated are you with the refs?
With you at center midfield the attack is much more dynamic. Can’t wait until Blaise comes to town, it will be great to have a target player in the box that Montano and Zakuani can run off of. Vill ochsa saga hej som Skane pag. Fodd is Malmo, kusiner i Vittsjo, badade i Pickelsjon som barn, min farbror jobbade pa Knaggen och kanner din mamma or mormor.
When Blaise joins you, well, the Sounders are going to rock.
Great job last Saturday with those carefully placed passes. Hopefully the team will turn them into assists for you this time around against Colorado. Good luck Freddie and goooo Sounders!
PS: Got Tyrone’s autograph after the Galaxy game, hope to get yours soon before I move. Please consider doing an autograph session at either the Qwest Pro Shop or at Pacific Place really soon, Freddie. Thanks!
I am so happy you are in America. When I was living in England I started following Arsenal in 2003 mainly because of you and your abilities on the field. I wasn’t following Seattle before but I will now! I am very excited to see what is yet to come.
Freddie, watching the Revolution game- LOVE the MOHAWK!!! also LOVE the goals!!
Great game by the guys tonight. Nice to see us score 3 goals…for a non-friendly fixture that is. Congrats on the Man of the Match, thoroughly well-deserved Freddie. Now come to Pac Place so we can get your autograph, please! Got Sanna’s last week – what a cool guy.
Love the new ‘do!!! Very cool. And what a great game last nite. Fun to watch. Thanks for all you do!
Great game against New England, Freddie!! Love the new look
3-0! Congrats! After reading the reports I understand you did a superb game
.
Freddie.. love your new look!!!
*Laura!
Sitting around our American/Swedish dinner table, watching the Sounders play DC United. Wondering how you’re enjoying or not enjoying life here in the US?! Keep up the great soccer!
Freddie, you are my all time favorite player & I just love you, but after watching last nights game against DC. I wish the Sounders could clone 9 more of you to field a team. The Sounders just aren’t “gelling” together as a team. I don’t think Montero is that great… VERY inexperienced. Keep up the good work, you are still lightning fast, don’t get frustrated.
Hey Freddie, I also watched last night’s game, and I got a simple question. Why are you not letting Montero take the free kicks? With all due respect, he is much more dangerous on free kicks than you are. As a fan, it’s frustrating to see.

Saw an interview with you in the New York Times Magazine and you mentioned the pool table in your game room. As a professional trick shot artist, I’d be happy to swap some pool tricks for soccer skill tips so you can impress your guests. I’m usually in the Seattle area at least once a year to visit family. Check out my site and get a head start: http://www.trickshottim.com/trick-shot-index.php

How are you enjoying your free time and watching the World Cup? That article in the NY times about you was great – you sound like a down-to-Earth guy and we really need you on this team. Can’t wait for Nkufo to join and we’ll be stellar. You two should PLEASE consider doing an autograph session together in July before I depart. I’m sure every member here will love to meet our two international Sounder stars!
Dear Freddie,
It has been forever since you posted something here. The article in the NY Times was great, but I want to hear what’s on your mind. Love the World Cup, but can’t wait until the break is over and I get to see you play again.
Tja Babe!
BIG KISS! Hanna
Going to the game this Sunday! Good luck to you and the rest of the Sounders! Hoping you, Nate, Steve, or even Blaise will sign a few jerseys afterwards! C’mon Dallas stole a win from us and we need to make them pay!!
We missed you vs. Dallas. You have played tough for the Sounders every time you’re on the field – hoping that Jaqua will help the team return to form. I strongly disagree with that Peter dude about Montero taking free kicks. That’s crazy. I prefer the lineup without him.
What I would love is to see you start ripping shots. I know you’ve always had lots of assists, but you are far too generous! : ) You’ve got some sick moves and I can’t WAIT to see you start shooting like a maniac!!
I really hope you stay in Seattle. I’d like to see you playing on Sat. vs Celtic. Looking forward to Blaise working with you to help get those guys to dominate for the rest of the season. Best wishes and hard shots.
Freddie, please come back to HBK, you’re our best player ever, we’d love to have you back in the club, you can play for a few more years, we’ll win Allsvenskan, then you can start coaching
.Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Freddie: Have always appreciated your positivity here on the site. There is alot of concern for you at this time. Please know that you are supported in whatever happens and in whatever decisions you may make in your career. Hope to see you on the playing field soon. We really miss you! Hope you are well. MSJ
Freddie, we’re reading the Seattle papers today, after weeks of rumors, and it now seems official that you’re leaving us. I can’t convey to you how appreciative we, as in the city of Seattle and Sounder fans, are towards you for your spectacular play over the past year and a half. I’m sorry to see you go. I’m not sure what’s transpired between you and the Sounders management, coaches, or MLS refs, but I really hope you know that doesn’t diminish you in the eyes of Sounder fans. Best of luck to you. I hope to see you on TV playing in Europe next year (please not NYC!
.
Thought it was grand of you to spend the entire second half of the USOC game at Starfire signing autographs for the fans (in the blazing heat no less). You never refused anybody and if you got a moment to sit back on the bench, you immediately stood back up with a smile when someone called your name.
If you do leave Seattle, please know how important you were to the Sounders orgaization and in promoting the sport of soccer both here and around the MLS. I am holding out hope that things will somehow work out, but if not, I will always look back at your time here with only the fondest of memories and will enthusiastically follow the rest your career, wherever it may be. Wishing you only the best, Freddie!
I am sorry to think of you leaving the MLS and SSFC. They will be the big losers. If things cannot be worked out there, I wish for you to find a place to be that appreciates you and where you are at peace. And playing great football!! Good luck to you!!! Looking forward to watching play again.
Freddie, our whole family is extremely disappointed you appear not to be staying with the Sounders. We are holding out hope we get to see you in the midfield with Osvaldo Alonso and Alvaro Fernandez. What a possession-oriented midfield that would be! Anyways, my little boys (4 and 5) have a Fathead on their wall of you and a custom Fathead of you with them at Starfire when they met you. They are huge fans of yours! Hopefully, this will all work out and you’ll be in the rave green for a while longer.
What?? Are you leaving? I’m not following the MLS so much this season so what happened? something changed? an offer from Europe maybe?
I was looking forward to your game agaist Red Bulls and the reunion with Thierry Henry..
Damnit I miss you. No one has any real info and some of those who write and broadcast seem to be making up there own and sometimes negativizing inappropriately. Your expertise, connectiveness, support and full out effort are always seen on the playing field. I will always be interested in where you are playing and what you are doing. Love, MSJ.
